All, Please read this important update from Avon Soccer REMINDER - All parents, players, coaches, spectators are REQUIRED to wear face coverings at the fields and while on the sidelines unless players are participating in games or training. If parents or spectators prefer to not wear face coverings, they should not attend training or games or watch from inside their vehicle. We are several weeks into the fall session for both rec and travel soccer and so far it appears as though the majority of families are following the social distancing guidelines as set forth by Avon Soccer, the leagues in which we play and the state of Ohio. Having said that, there are a number of instances that have occurred in stark contrast to the COVID guidelines and thus the reason for this email reminder to all. First off, we have received feedback on people not wearing the face coverings as required. IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND TRAINING OR GAMES YOU MUST WEAR FACE COVERINGS. Next, The Director of OHTSL recently notified us of an incident that they described as one of the most blatant examples of disregard of the COVID safety guidelines to date: From the league: "To summarize what was going on, the Avon team had a table set up with cookies, cake and what appeared to be mimosas (champagne and OJ) for the parents. Throughout the game, there were multiple parents and kids congregating at the table, many without masks and definitely no social distancing at all. At the conclusion of the game, all of the Avon players went running to the table to get cookies and again, no masks." There is no alcohol allowed at Schwartz Park Face coverings must be worn Players are to attend training and games and depart the fields upon conclusion The mandates must be followed as we are still in the middle of the COVID pandemic. The leagues in which we play and our governing bodies have clearly communicated that should these examples of non-compliance continue they will identify the teams with parents, players and spectators not following the guidelines and then begin cancelling some or all of the remaining scheduled games for fall. Please do not allow this to happen. We ask that you each do you part and follow the COVID safety guidelines distributed by Avon Soccer. THANK YOU
